CAMPT Member Profile
BScKin, MScPT, MClSc (manip)
I graduated with my Masters degree in Physiotherapy from McMaster University in 2008 after completing my BSc Kinesiology degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2006. In 2017 I returned to school to complete a second Masters in Clinical Science Physical Therapy (Manipulative Therapy) degree from Western University allowing me to become CAMPT certified.
I have completed additional training in:
Concussion Rehabilitation
Vestibular Rehabilitation
McKenzie Method for the treatment of low back pain
Running injuries and prevention
Exercise prescription
Soft tissue based treatment approaches.
Acupuncture: certified through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute.
I have volunteered at various sporting events from local tournaments to international levels of competition (IIAF World Junior Track and Field Championships and National Figure Skating Championships).
I am passionate about working with motivated individuals, of all ages, who want to improve their physical well-being or prevent injury. I believe education and self management techniques are important components in a treatment plan. I strive to help people stay active in their activities and sports by using evidence informed manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription and modalities to help them return to the activities they love.
I love to hike, run, play Ultimate Frisbee, ski, read and hang out with my two young, energetic children. I enjoy mentoring other physiotherapists who have chosen to pursue their advanced manual therapy training.
