Erik graduated from the Western University in 2004 with degrees in both Kinesiology and Psychology before moving on to complete his Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Queens University in 2006. In 2011, Erik completed his Masters of Clinical Science in Manipulative Therapy from Western University and earned his fellowship with the Canadian Academy of Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapists (FCAMPT).
Following his entry into practice, Erik immersed himself into the profession, completing several post graduate education programs and offering his time to several faculties and committees. Erik has served as a past executive member of the National Orthopaedic Division of the CPA, as past chair for the London Orthopeadic Unit, and was at one time a faculty member and educator with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. Currently, Erik is the owner of several companies, including Pro Function Health Care Team, Pro Function Sports Injury Clinic, Schmidt Physiotherapy and Entry to Practice Essentials. He also continues as an education associate at Western University and with several orthopeadic based continuing education programs for physiotherapists.
Erik is the current past-president of CAMPT and he feels that as a profession, physiotherapy has only reached the cusp of its potential. Erik has made it his focus to distinguish FCAMPT physiotherapists and to bring about awareness of the credential to the public.
