Originally from Saskatchewan, Amy Fahlman brings a wealth of experience and valuable perspective to the physiotherapy team. After convocating from the University of Saskatchewan with distinction, she worked in a private practice setting with a strong focus on manual therapy. She mentored with renowned manual therapists across the country, where she developed her keen intuition and feel. She completed a Masters of Clinical Science in manipulative therapy from the University of Western Ontario, and graduated at the top of her class. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy Manipulative Physiotherapists (FCAMPT), and is an executive member of the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. rnrnAmy has developed a keen interest in personal exercise instruction and running biomechanical analysis. She has completed her Can Fit Pro certifications for personal training and fitness instructor specialist, and specializes in injury specific evidence-based exercise instruction. She has a particular interest in running injuries, and uses video analysis to work with runners on correcting mechanical faults to optimize running performance and assist in injury prevention. Her rehabilitative philosophy is focused on neuromuscular training, injury specific exercise programs, functional strengthening, core development, and progressive return to pre-injury activity. rnrnGrowing up in Western Canada gave Amy an appreciation for the outdoors. To balance her love for running, she also spends time snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, canoeing, camping, and quality time with her family, friends and animals.
