Jacquie has completed the highest level of post-graduate diplomas in both advanced orthopaedics and sports physiotherapy, earning her FCAMPT in 2003 and SPC diploma in 2007. She has complemented her advanced orthopaedic manual therapy skills with certification in acupuncture from the Canadian Acupuncture Foundation of Canada, and is a nationally-accredited certified strength and conditioning specialist and a certified sports first responder. As an orthopaedic and sport physiotherapist, Jacquie has extensive experience working with athletes from a provincial development level through to and including Olympic athletes. During over a decade of clinical and on-field experience at the University of Toronto Sports Medicine Clinic, and with the concussion team and research staff, Jacquie has treated a high volume of concussed athletes, with a focus on return to play. Her continuum of care included coordinating neuro-psychological baseline testing, acute on-field assessment of injured athletes, management of acute and chronic symptoms, and return to play exercise progressions. She has been a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto, Department of Physical Therapy, and past chair of the Sport Physiotherapy Canada (SPC), Ontario committee which she sat on for over 12years. Jacquie is currently a PhD student at the University of Ottawa, developing a Quality of Life outcome measure for patients with post-concussion syndrome. An avid athlete herself, Jacquie has been a competitive athlete in cross country mountain biking at a national level, and represented the UofT as a nordic skier at an intercollegiate level. Jacquie’s new passion is marathon training, and she can be frequently found running along the trails of the Ottawa River.
