Melissa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (2006) followed by a clinical Master of Science in Physical Therapy (2007) at Queen's University. She has worked extensively in both in-patient and out-patient settings in rehabilitation of patients following orthopaedic surgery, and other injuries. Melissa is dedicated to ongoing professional development and has completed extensive post-graduate training in integrated manual therapy. She holds a post-graduate diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy since 2017 and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). She has completed advanced acupuncture training for pain management in orthopaedic conditions. Melissa has a special interest in the field of Women's Health. She has completed courses on pelvic health, diastasis recti and is certified to deliver the Röst Therapy method of relieving pelvic girdle pain during and after pregnancy. She is also certified to deliver the GLA:D Canada program for hip and knee osteoarthritis. She is also trained to deliver the Osteo-Circuit program for people with osteoporosis. She utilizes a combination of manual therapy, neural-mobilization techniques, and acupuncture, with emphasis on personalized exercise therapy and education to assist clients in recovery.
