Preya is the owner and sole practitioner of PR Physiotherapy. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Physical Therapy in 2006. She is a registered member with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, Ontario Physiotherapy Association, and Canadian Physiotherapy Association (www.physiotherapy.ca) with a membership to the Orthopaedic Division and Women’s Health Division (www.orthodiv.org). Preya completed her post-graduate training and received her Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association & became a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). She has completed training in acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute in 2009 and received certification in Integrated Dry Needling in 2017. Preya has worked in various outpatient Orthopaedic settings in Scarborough, Thornhill & Alliston Ontario and enjoys working with clients of all ages. Preya’s educational background and practical experience give her great success in treating a wide range of acute and chronic conditions by incorporating the use of manual (hands-on) therapy techniques, individualized exercise programs, acupuncture, dry needling, and patient education. Preya became interested in women’s health after having her children which allowed her a better understanding of the changes the female body undergoes during pregnancy, labor and delivery and postpartum recovery. As a result, she has pursued post-graduate studies in Urinary Incontinence and plans to continue with her studies focusing on prenatal and postpartum care, osteoporosis, and pelvic health issues in women of all ages. Preya lives in Barrie with her husband and three children. Outside of work Preya enjoys staying active with her kids and at the local recreational center, volunteering at her kid’s school and participating in various community events.
