



Kendra was born and raised in farming community in Northern BC and graduated from the University of Alberta in 1993. She worked in private practice physiotherapy in AB after graduation and moved with her husband and three boys to the Comox Valley in 2010. She has been the owner of Ascent Physiotherapy since June of 2010 and has been actively enjoying all the great lifestyle and nature opportunities that Vancouver Island has to offer. Orthopedic physical therapy has been her main area of interest and spinal mobilizations, manipulations, and intramuscular needling techniques are used extensively in her hands-on treatment approach.


Kyla was born and raised on skates in Saskatchewan, but is now firmly rooted on Vancouver Island. She obtained her physical therapy degree in 1996 from the University of Alberta and continued westward, working at many of the best clinics in Western Canada before settling in Nanaimo, BC. In 2001, she successfully completed the internationally recognized Advanced Diploma of Manual and Manipulative Therapy (FCAMT). In addition, Kyla is certified to practice IntraMuscular Stimulation (CGIMS), a dry needling technique used to treat chronic pain especially of spinal origin. Athletically, she has completed numerous international marathons, Ironman Canada, and competed at a National level in basketball and softball. She has worked extensively with national amateur and professional hockey and rugby players and loves the challenge of getting athletes performing their best as quickly as possible post injury. In addition, Kyla also has a strong interest in treating neurological conditions and occupational injuries.

Graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1998. Also treats vestibular conditions and is certified in Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS). Competed internationally for Canada in track and field. Sprints coach for Nanaimo Track and Field Club.
