Surabhi is a highly-motivated physiotherapist who uses her energy and experience to empower patients to achieve a more active lifestyle. Surabhi treats various orthopaedic conditions across the spectrum, including injuries resulting from trauma, sports, overuse, postural dysfunction and arthritis. Surabhi excels at educating patients on their injuries, and believes in providing patients the tools they need to contribute to their rehabilitation success. Surabhi tailors each patient’s treatment plan based on their specific goals. She uses an evidence-informed multi-modal approach, integrating manual therapy, exercise, neurofunctional acupuncture, and therapeutic taping. Surabhi believes in life-long learning. She has earned a Master of Clinical Science in Manipulative Therapy through Western University, a Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto, and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo. To broaden her scope of practice, Surabhi has also completed her acupuncture certification through the McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program. Surabhi enjoys giving back to the physiotherapy profession and to the community at large. She has volunteered at events such as the Toronto Marathon, and is also involved in various volunteer roles at the University of Toronto. She holds an Adjunct Lecturer appointment at the University of Toronto Department of Physical Therapy and has been a Clinical Instructor to numerous final-year physiotherapy students. Surabhi has co-authored and published a paper on Evaluating Physical Impairments in Children and Youth with Acquired Brain Injury. She had the opportunity to share her research at the 2012 Canadian Physiotherapy Association Congress and was honoured with a national award for her presentation. She has also had the opportunity to present her research on lumbar spine manipulation at the Orthopaedic National Symposium in 2017 in London, Ontario. As an avid rock climber, road cyclist and cross-country skier, Surabhi reflects her commitment to promoting physical fitness. While attending the University of Waterloo, Surabhi competed in varsity Nordic Skiing and understands the demands of competitive and recreational sport. Surabhi particularly enjoys treating running and cycling injuries and uses the most current evidence to help maximize performance.
