CAMPT Member Profile
BA, BMR (PT), MClSc PT
Louise graduated as a physiotherapist (BMR PT) in 1991 from the University of Manitoba and has been practicing in Calgary since 1993. Her practice has evolved with her personal interests as she has trained for many running and triathlon races, including the Ironman distance. A professional highlight in 2015 was opening a physiotherapy clinic with Tyson Plesuk, Movement Sports Clinic. Louise's greatest skills are in analyzing biomechanical problems, identifying root causes of pain and dysfunction and then treating with a combination of education, manual therapy, therapeutic modalities and exercise prescription. She achieved qualifications in Spinal Manipulation (FCAMT) in 1999 and uses these techniques to facilitate recovery where indicated. Her patients range from active office workers to highly trained athletes. Louise has also completed training in Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation and has found that a great asset for her practice. In 2011, Louise achieved the academic Masters designation in Manipulative Therapy (MClSc MT) from the University of Western Ontario. In 2012 Louise obtained the qualifications required to order diagnostic imaging in Alberta. Areas of special interest are injuries related to running and triathlon, performance of the Masters athlete, occupational repetitive strain injuries, persistent pain conditions and recovery from motor vehicle accident trauma. Above all, Louise wants to help people of any age be pain free, active and healthy.
