Barbara graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1981. Her passion for physiotherapy, health and the movement sciences is complimented by a Bachelor of Physical Education degree (University of Calgary) and ongoing certification as a fitness instructor. During her 30 years experience as a physiotherapist, she has enjoyed the diversity of treating orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, providing ergonomic consultations and teaching spinal stabilization classes. Barbara has extensive post graduate training, which includes certification in Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (2005) and training in spinal manipulation. In 2008, Barbara successfully completed her Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy Examination, and received her Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. She is a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). Barbara believes physiotherapy services should be client centered and individualized. She incorporates a variety of techniques including manual therapy, exercise prescription, education, and IMS to achieve successful outcomes, and is particularly interested in evaluating these outcomes for best evidence based practice. Barbara is keen to facilitate injury prevention and optimal function. n n
