Marilyn Holmes, is a 1983 graduate of the Physical Therapy program at University of Alberta (B.Sc.PT). She worked in Edmonton, Victoria and Bristol, UK before returning to the Stratford area in 1990. In 2001 Marilyn attained her Advanced (Fellowship) Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Physical Therapy (FCAMPT). Marilyn continues taking courses in manual physical therapy (including for the cranium), mobilization of the myofascial system, osteopathy, exercise therapy, acupuncture (neuro-anatomic, ear), Sport Medicine, pain, women’s health, oncology and pain management. In 1994 she obtained certification with Acupuncture Canada (CAFCI) and in 2018 Marilyn became a Connect Therapy Series Graduate. She also obtained certification in Integrated Dry Needling in 2018. For 20 years, Marilyn owned and operated a private physiotherapy practice. Between 2013 she worked at Sunrise Health Services, a predominantly naturopathic clinic. Between 2014 and 2019 Marilyn was a Guest Coach at the Stratford Festival. In 2023, Marilyn relocated her practice to The Movement Centre, a Pilates studio where she can offer more movement options for her clients. Outside of physiotherapy, Marilyn enjoys an active lifestyle that includes yoga, Pilates, tennis, cycling, skiing and swimming. She lives on a beautiful farm just outside Stratford with her husband and a clowder of rehomed cats.
