Andrea graduated from Dalhousie University's Physiotherapy program and went on to pass her Advanced Manipulation Exam in 2005 then graduated with her Master of Clinical Science (Manipulative Therapy) from Western University in 2008. She worked first in Texas, USA, primarily in geriatrics and outpatients, before returning to Nova Scotia to begin an orthopaedic focus in her practice. She worked to build her niche from clinical practice to include roles of both clinician and Clinical Care Coordinator, training and mentoring physiotherapists in the company. Andrea took that drive to work with both patients and clinicians to a national company and joined the team of the CBI Health Group in 2010 as a Senior Physiotherapist in Nova Scotia. She currently practices in the Dartmouth-Pleasant clinic. Andrea taught in the Orthopaedic Module in Dalhousie University's Physiotherapy program from 2002-2022 and continues her affiliation with the University as a clinical instructor. She teaches and mentors Physiotherapists after graduation in the Orthopaedic Division curriculum as a credentialed instructor for Levels 1, 2 and 3, and provides mentorship to those working toward their own FCAMPT status. Andrea was appointed Examiner in the Orthopaedic Division in 2017. Andrea was part of the executive of the Nova Scotia Orthopaedic Section of the CPA from 2000-2013, and Chair 2003- 2011. She sat as the Vice Chair for the National Orthopaedic Division 2008 to 2010 and has held the position of Curriculum Chair for the Ortho Division Education Committee since then. Andrea balances her work life with various fitness activities, running, snowboarding, hiking with the dog and the occasional game of golf.
"I believe that the studies for my diplomas brought me greater understanding and appreciation of the detail we must manage when considering the recovery of the whole person, to their whole function. 'Good enough' is simply not in my approach."
