A trained manual therapist with extensive clinical experience, April holds an Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopaedic Division and is a Fellow in the Canadian Academy of Manual and Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT). She is also certified in Chan Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (CG*IMS) through the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Pain (iSTOP), holds a Certificate of the Acupuncture Foundation Canada Institute (CAFCI) to perform Medical Acupuncture and is a graduate from the Discover Physio Series with Diane and L.J. Lee, with a focus on the Integrated Systems Model (ISM) and Thoracic Ring Approach. April is also trained in osteopathic techniques, as she has completed Barral's level's 1-4 in both Visceral Manipulation & Neural Manipulation. April graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2006 with a Masters in Physical Therapy, after previously completing a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology & Physical Education from the University of the Fraser Valley (formerly UCFV). April is known for her understanding of the orthopaedic and biomechanic underpinnings of how the body works. She uses a wide range of physiotherapy and related health care techniques to help her clients feel and perform better, so they can return to full, pain-free functioning. April teaches Gross Anatomy and Surface Anatomy at the University of British Columbia Masters of Physical Therapy Program. She lives in spectacular North Vancouver, where she has embraced downhill and cross-country mountain biking, snowshoeing, hiking, running and everything else the North Shore has to offer.
