Blaine graduated from the University of Regina, Canada with a bachelor?s degree in biology. This provided his science base for entering the Physiotherapy program at the University of Saskatchewan. He graduated with honours in 1992. He is a licensed practitioner in Saskatchewan. He practiced for two years in Rapid City South Dakota where he achieved his McKenzie Part A and B certification and the upper and lower quadrant manual therapy certification through NAIOMT. He then returned to Saskatoon, Canada to practice in the outpatient orthopaedic setting for 9 years. On Jan.2/03 he opened his own clinic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada. His clinic practices physiotherapy for musculoskeletal injuries from work, motor vehicle accidents and sports with advanced training in orthopaedic manual and manipulative physiotherapy. His clinic also has a special interest in strength training and has a private strength training facility. Within this environment Blaine continues to manage orthopaedic impairments with manual therapy and integrative strength training. In 1997 he completed the Part A diploma in advanced manual and manipulative physiotherapy and in 1998 he completed the Part B diploma advanced manual and manipulative physiotherapy with credit (distinction) through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. He presently is a senior instructor in the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Blaine has been teaching in the system for the last 8 years. He is a fellow in the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy. Blaine has designed a unique strength course that integrates manual therapy and advanced strength movements which can be modified as required and used for most pathologies acute and chronic. Blaine has had the opportunity to travel to China, Russia and several locations across the United States to study strength training, weightlifting and powerlifting. Blaine has been the Strength and Conditioning Coach of the speed skating club and is the present Strength and Conditioning Coach for the local provincial, national and elite gymnasts. Blaine?s background in orthopaedic manual therapy and keen interest in strength training has allowed him to combine the two concepts to advantage and empower his patients to achieve levels of recovery that were not previously attained.
