CAMPT Member Profile
BScPT
I graduated from Dalhousie University in 1981 with a BSc in physiotherapy and at first was in paediatrics; in 1996 I completed the final Canadian examination in manual and manipulative therapy. I have a strong interest in the treatment of back pain, neck pain, whiplash, chronic pain and in using manual therapy, manipulation and holistic healthcare to do so. I have studied osteopathic methods, craniosacral therapy, acupressure, muscle balancing and neurological re-programming using neonatal reflexes (excellent for chronic pain) to widen my scope. Teaching has included assisting courses and direct teaching of several hands-on courses to physiotherapists and massage therapists. At my office I offer orthotics (with a neat way to 'test-drive' them before ordering) and commonly-needed braces. For years I sat on the licensing board of NS as well as a number of committees but now my interests are all about practical learning. For 21 years I was owner/operator of Burnside Physiotherapy Ltd. and treated thousands of lovely people. Now I work from my home which allows me to offer 50 minute appointments of one-on-one care. My website is www.heatherphysiotherapy.com
