    Que signifie le sigle FCAMPT?

    Le sigle FCAMPT signifie Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy. Au Canada, iI s’agit d’un titre professionnel, et les physiothérapeutes qui l’ont reçu peuvent inscrire ce sigle après leur nom ou apposer le logo de la CAMPT sur leur carte d’affaires. Les physiothérapeutes FCAMPT ont une formation avancée en thérapie manuelle orthopédique, ainsi qu’une habileté clinique à évaluer et à traiter des pathologies orthopédiques complexes.

    Est-ce que tous les physiothérapeutes au Canada sont agréés par la CAMPT?

    Non. Seuls quelques physiothérapeutes au Canada sont agréés par la CAMPT. Ils peuvent l’être après avoir réussi un programme spécialisé, suivant leur formation de physiothérapeute de base, reconnu internationalement, et avoir obtenu le titre de FCAMPT.

    En savoir plus
    Quels sont les avantages à être membre agréé de la CAMPT?

    La formation pour obtenir le titre de FCAMPT permet au physiothérapeute d’améliorer ses habiletés à:

    • identifier, comprendre et traiter une grande variété de blessures et pathologies;
    • utiliser des techniques de thérapie manuelle orthopédique, et ainsi améliorer sa précision et les résultats de ses traitements;
    • intégrer les plus récentes données probantes à sa pratique et lui permettre d’atteindre une constance dans les résultats obtenus avec ses patients;
    • avoir une vision plus globale et complète de l’état du client en considérant l’impact de sa blessure sur sa vie quotidienne. Par exemple, les physiothérapeutes FCAMPT ne voient pas seulement le patient avec une altération de son patron de marche. Ils pensent à l’impact de cette limitation sur la famille du patient, sur son travail, son revenu et ses responsabilités sociales ou relationnelles, ainsi que le stress occasionné par cette atteinte fonctionnelle;
    • avoir une vision plus large du problème. Les FCAMPT ne se fient pas seulement à ce qui est douloureux, ils recherchent la cause exacte de la douleur en évaluant tous les systèmes pouvant être impliqués, que ce soit l’articulation, le muscle, le nerf, l’organe, etc…
    • utiliser les manipulations articulaires comme méthode de traitement
    Why would a physiotherapist want to become CAMPT-Certified?

    FCAMPT training improves the physiotherapists ability to:

    • Identify, understand and treat a wide range of injuries and diseases.
    • To use hands-on assessment and treatment techniques which can improve accuracy and results.
    • To integrate research into assessment and treatment making treatment and results more consistent.
    • To think globally about injuries including what it does to function AND the impact on daily life. This means not just walking, driving and sleeping – but how it impacts family, work, financial income, hobbies, social and public responsibilities, emotions, relationships, stress… and more.
    • Think globally about diseases not just be focused on what hurts, but what led to the pain, what healing and recovery can be expected, how long healing will take, what the impact will be long term on joints, nerves, organs, balance, coordination, medications… and more.
    • To perform joint manipulations as a treatment technique.
    So are all physiotherapists in Canada CAMPT-Certified?

    No, only some physiotherapists in Canada are CAMPT-Certified physiotherapists. CAMPT-Certified physiotherapists are those who earn their FCAMPT designation by completing an internationally accredited physiotherapy education program beyond the core university education required to become a physiotherapist in Canada.
