Lianne is a University of Toronto graduate with almost 30 years of experience in Orthopaedics. She successfully completed her Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy in 2002 and a post professional Masters degree from University of Western Ontario in 2008. She has utilized acupuncture and dry needling to enhance the recovery of her patients for many years, having obtained a Certification from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (AFCI) in 1995 and an Integrated Dry Needling Certificate. Lianne enjoys teaching and has been involved in continuing education courses for many various health care professionals. She instructs acupuncture and dry needling with Acupuncture Canada, is a past instructor with the Orthopaedic division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and on faculty with Casted teaching physicians and other primary health care providers orthopaedics. She is also an adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto and has worked with the Musculoskeletal Units of the Physical Therapy program for many years. Devoted to ongoing learning herself Lianne has taken many courses since graduating and enjoys treating a wide range of orthopaedic problems. She believes in empowering the patient by educating them on their condition and the proper care required and gives specific exercises and self-treatment strategies. She employs a variety of treatment approaches including manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, acupuncture and dry needling when indicated to achieve results. Lianne is self-employed and is currently in clinical practice at Striowski & Associates.
