CAMPT Member Profile
BSc (Hons Kin), MPT
I completed my Bachelor of Science Honours Kinesiology degree from the University of Waterloo in 2009. Following this I attended the University of Western Ontario for my Masters of Physiotherapy degree, which I completed in 2012.
I have taken multiple post-graduate courses to add to my treatment approach, including Mulligan therapy techniques, concussion rehab, multiple vestibular rehabilitation courses, and I have completed my STOTT Pilates certification for rehab therapists. I also hold my Level 1 and 2 Traditional Acupuncture through AFCI, and am certified in Integrated Dry Needling Acupuncture. I enjoy taking new courses with up-to-date research to help improve and expand on my manual therapy skills, and I completed my Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2022.
I always want to ensure that every client understands their injury fully, and that they are comfortable and confident with their individualized treatment plan. I aim to have each client be an active participant in their care, and make sure that all movement mechanics that may be at fault are addressed in their treatment program. I use a combination of manual therapy, acupuncture (traditional and/or dry needling), stability exercises, and education, to help each client reach their goal. Most importantly, I feel my calming and empathetic nature helps each client feel comfortable and safe in our treatment space. Creating strong positive therapist-client relationships is what has drawn many clients to me over the years.
In the summer of 2023 I became a first time mom to my beautiful baby boy Myles, and when I have spare time I enjoy going for runs with my dogs Ricki and Charlie, rock climbing, and I am often traveling up to Sauble Beach to enjoy beautiful Bruce County with my family!
